The first 3 years of the Duterte administration will be confronted with stiff opposition that threatens to cut short his 6-year term. Even at this present time, opposition against his strong possibility of winning the Philippine presidency is already building up with corruption allegations, propaganda and cheating against him. What is little known is that these attempts will escalate even further into dangerous proportions as indicated, astrologically, by two planetary aspects, strengthening an already existing planetary aspect that may be fueling Mayor Duterte's actions, most especially the more controversial ones.
Late into this year, a Mars transit into the sign of Capricorn will catch up, and conjunct Pluto already transiting the sign, energizing the planet of Hades, Death and Destruction, and thereby negatively energizing the iconoclastic, revolutionary, unconventional planet Uranus in the sign of Aries, which may be influencing Mayor Duterte's behavior of late. The first several months of his administration will be threatened by hidden forces organizing together, perhaps loyal to the former administration, and launching destabilization attempts, a coup d' etat, or even an assassination attempt.
In the first half of 2017, a Saturn transit into the same sign of Capricorn will also connect with Pluto also in the same sign, which again energizes the lord of Hades with constricting, restraining, confining, slowing down energies, also affecting the planet Uranus with which the Pluto has a negative aspect with. Perhaps as a development of the current plunder charges currently being filed against him, President Rodrigo Duterte may face formal impeachment proceedings filed against him.
Now, how will President Rodrigo Duterte react against these threats to himself and his administration? He has so often recently threatened that if he is elected president, he will close down Congress, declare martial law, change the constitution, kill all dissidents against him and his government. Will he really carry out all these threats?
There is that mentioned negative aspect between Pluto, in the sign of Capricorn, and Uranus, currently moving in the sign of Aries. This negative aspect, known as the Uranus Pluto square which has been there for the past few years. Since Uranus is in the sign of Aries, the same sign where his natal sun is found, Mayor Duterte's natal sun in Aries may be conjunct with transiting Uranus now, in the same sign of Aries. Uranus is the planet of the revolutionary, the iconoclast, the one to bring down convention. These themes feature prominently to what Mayor Duterte promises to bring, once elected president.
Trouble is, for a few years already Uranus is badly aspected by the planet Pluto, currently moving in Capricorn. Pluto, represented by the Lord of Hades, deals with themes of destruction, elimination of the status quo, Cthonic power. Now combine that with the revolutionary, iconoclastic qualities of Uranus, all expressed negatively cause of the square aspect, the result is strong impulses of bringing about destruction, death, annihilation to deliver complete lasting changes, perhaps seen to benefit the greater good. And so it is these influences that Mayor Duterte has been internally feeling lately that has made him to utter threats like closing down congress and the judiciary, declaring martial law, changing the constitution, drenching the streets with the blood of all criminals and those that dare to threaten his administration, with their heads and limbs rolling all over the place. It is most likely that these impulses will be continuously felt by him into the next several years of his administration.
To end in a positive note, the Chariot card in the Major Arcana of the Marseilles Tarot card, just drawn, indicate that indeed Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, if elected as President of the Republic of the Philippines, will indeed carry out the reforms he promised to make this country a better, safer, more orderly nation. It is yet to be seen if he will carry them out in the short time frame he promised, but when these reforms are indeed brought out, they will be felt by the majority of the people. Perhaps the destructive tendencies brought about by the Uranus - Pluto square can be energetically transmuted and expressed by the newly elected president in delivering benefits in the country, as these good things will really involved a lot of change and reform. Mayor Duterte has a free-will to make the choice.
