2016 Philippine Presidential Election

by: Psychic August

For this prediction, I used the tarot and my intuition:

The next president will be a man; definitely it will be Jejomar Binay, the current vice president. Despite the recent attacks against him, he will remain, in the public eye, to be the most trusted public official in spite of his plunging approval ratings. With the Filipinos tendency to root for the underdog but who projects an image of 'getting the job done' - mainly with what he has done in developing the country's premier business district - Makati City.

With the threat of upcoming formal investigation and possible charges filed against him and his family, the current vice president will manage to weather through all these, long enough to successfully participate and win in the upcoming 2016 elections.

Binay will fare better than Mar Roxas; in fact it would be better if Mar would not run for the presidency in 2016. Miriam Defensor will survive her bout with cancer but at the last minute she will opt not to run for the presidency, citing physical weakness as the cause. And of course, Rodrigo Duterte won't still run, still promoting his stand for federalism as the better form of government for the Philippines (it actually is, given the pinoys' diversity & divisiveness - my opinion).

Bongbong Marcos will not run for president in 2016.  He will be biding time, opting to secure his place as a senator.

Bong Revilla will run, even if detained, but will lose.  Alan Peter Cayetano will also run but will also fail to secure the presidency.

Pnoy will finish his term, with no extension, and no assassination nor coup de etat.

The country will finally develop economically with the next president, in contrast to the current, whose main accomplishment will be seen to be weeding out many corrupt personalities from public office.

The 2016 elections in the Philippines will also be messy behind the scenes, with a lot of clandestine manipulations going on. However, it will not be worse than previous national elections.

And - the next vice president of the country will also be a man.

    By ANDREO CALONZO,GMA NewsMarch 17, 2015 5:42pm

The survey showed the number of respondents who favored Binay slightly rose to 29 percent this month from 26 percent last November.

Senator Grace Poe remains to be Binay’s closest rival for the presidency, with 14 percent of the respondents naming her as their presidential pick. This figure is slightly lower than Poe’s 18 percent four months ago.

Meanwhile, In his first time to be included in the Pulse Asia presidential survey, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte ranked third with 12 percent, tied with Manila Mayor and former President Joseph Estrada.

Based on the Pulse Asia survey results, Duterte was the top presidential pick for respondents from Mindanao.

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, who was in third place during the past presidential survey, fell to fourth place, securing the nod of 9 percent of the respondents from a previous 12 percent.

Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., meanwhile, rose from seventh place last survey to fifth place this month. He got the approval of 6 percent of the respondents from last November’s 4 percent.

The administration’s presumptive candidate, Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, is still in sixth place, tied with Senator Francis Escudero with 4 percent.

You know what, a thought crossed my mind.

Maybe the meeting with Grace Poe was a strategy to a) smoke out her ambitious stance and make it visible to diminish her. It apparently worked since such earned negative reviews from the public and in social media; and b) smoke out the LP members who are prone to support Poe, as a form of loyalty check.

    What do you think?

    Some possible scenarios for 2016.
    Binay is so diminished.
Grace faces the specter of being disqualfied.
Miriam will not get the masa vote.
Erap will get it but can also get TKOd just like Grace.
Digong may get the right wing vote but not fhe left and the middle class.
    This leaves Mar. Oh Dear.
Maybe this is the game plan all along. Damn it, I hate being taken for a ride.
If Marcos does not figure well in surveys, and the search for a viable candidate becomes futile, I may have to apologize to many of my friends but I may have to begin rooting for the Dark Lord.

THE GAME OF THRONES BY THE PASIG RIVER

In 2016, the throne by the Pasig River is up for grabs. And the rulers of the Kingdom have a big problem.

How do they make the Anointed One who is lagging behind in the polls win, that is the question. And how do they ensure that the Wounded Incumbent does not become a lame duck, and avoid the fate that awaits him like his predecessors.

Well, destroy the enemies from the other kingdoms.

The Dark Lord of Makati, he who is the most serious contender, is the first who must be eliminated. And it was easy. All it took was to recruit former allies turned enemies, mobilize minions in the Senate, with the help of the DOJ and the Ombudsman, and conduct a prolonged, strip-tease like expose of his and his familiy's shenanigans, which was just too many that it was like fishing in an overstocked fish-pond in Batangas.

Then, there is the Ice Queen from the Senate. This one was difficult. She was a reluctant candidate, and is a sweet, innocent-like character who rides on the image of her dead adoptive father. So the trick was to lure her into a trap, make her feel coveted by arranging a meeting with the Wounded Incumbent, and making overtures to feed her ego. Well, the freshman Senator took the bait, started acting Presidential, and even played the role well by pissing off the Dark Lord, who had no choice but to strike her where she was vulnerable--her being a foundling, and her being short in residency, things that would inflict on her a technical knock-out. The plan was just too perfect. Flush out the prima-donna smirk out of the nice face, and then feed her to the dogs of the Dark Lord and let them destroy each other.

And then you have the Executioner from the South. But this one is just too easy. He has this vigilante mean streak, which can easily be cracked. He was simply assigned to be hounded by one of the most loyal minion of the Wounded Incumbent.

All the other challengers to the throne are minor characters, among them the Jaded Former King, the Queen of Jesters, the Former Disaster Czar, the King of the Red Cross and the Son of the Banished Mummy King, all of whom can be dealt with later.

And now that the Dark Lord is diminished, the Ice Queen is exposed, and the Executioner is being hounded by one of the Furies of Justice, it was time to spring the surprise.

To save the throne from going the crooked path, the boring Anointed One and the Wounded Incumbent will team up again, as they did three years ago, but now in reverse. The Wounded Incumbent argued that if it was good for the Jaded Former King to become mayor and the Short One to become a member of Congress, it would be good for him too.

And oh, they have already amassed so much gold thanks to the masterful strokes of the Lord of the Budget from the Island Kingdom from the North that it would be easy to lure more minions.
    And the game is set.

    Welcome to the Philippines!

    Antonio P. Contreras

    Political Analyst

Ps. The Dark Lord of Makati is currently trying to forge an alliance with the Jaded Former King to become the Lords of the land

There are rumors that the Son of the Banished Mummy King will unite with Ice Queen of the Senate, long rumored to be his bastard half sister, for rule of the land.

SWS SURVEY MAY BUILT-IN BIAS AGAINST BINAY!

    Paano?

In times when you get stuck in flooded roads, or suffer the incompetence of government, or simply watch your life wasted dealing with inept social services and lazy, detached and clueless bureaucrats that you become cynical that you would overlook the corruption of those who can deliver their part of the social contract.
So at the rate we are going, a Binay Presidency may not be farfetched.
People would be willing to be blind to kickbacks if as an alternative is anothet Abaya who sits in his fat privileged ass while ordinary commuters get soaked in driving rain.
People would be willing to tolerate ghost employees if what is the other option is a so detached and elitist Roxas who could not command LGUs to clean up the sewers to allow for flood waters to flow more efficiently to the sea.
People would be willing to accept a flawed dynasty if what lies as an option is a friend or partymate of a lazy heir to another dynasty who plays his PSP while the metropolis halts to a standstill.
And if Bongbong runs, anti-Martial Law voices may just be drowned in a sea of voices that remember his father not for the atrocities but for the goods he delivered.
Call it a corrupted society. But it is a sad commentary about, and a consequence of a politics where virtue has become an excuse for ineptitude.
